Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru

Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru opened its doors in 1995. Set in North Male Atoll, it welcomes you to a picturesque island of palm-fringed beaches and turquoise waters. With just 48 private pool villas, enjoy unparalleled seclusion in an idyllic island retreat with the Indian Ocean at your doorstep.

Maldivian architecture takes centre-stage in the form of traditional thatched roof villas and airy interiors, evoking the laid-back atmosphere of island life and bringing the ocean to your doorstep. Each pool villa, at 110-120 square metres, has a private pool with adjoining heated jet pool, outdoor and indoor showers, signature teakwood four-poster bed and direct access to the ocean.

Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru offers amazing underwater adventures including snorkeling, night fishing and diving safaris with its Padi Gold Palm 5-Star resort dive centre. It is also home to the Banyan Tree Maldives Marine Lab, the first of its kind to be funded and built on a private resort, where guests can learn about marine conservation and partake in the many sustainability activities on offer including coral planting, reef cleaning, turtle care and daily stingray feeding sessions.

Other facilities and services include an award-winning Banyan Tree Spa and fitness centre. Guests will also enjoy a variety of dining options including our signature Destination Dining on the beach or a private sandbank with fresh ingredients coming from our very own hydrophonics and organic garden. To have the ability to dine not only in Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru but also use the facilities and restaurant & bar in its sister resort, Angsana Ihuru – located just a 2 minute scheduled boat ride away, gives the guests an opportunity to discover 2 worlds and have a large variety of choices.

A small reflection from the General Manager of the two resorts of Banyan Tree in the North Malé Atoll, Axel Jarosch: “It is a true paradise on earth, not only for our guests but also for the team working together as a family in order to fulfill the wishes of our guests. Having a predominantly Maldivian team makes a huge difference, especially as the experiences we offer to our guests reflect true local hospitality. My two favorite spots on Banyan Tree are early in the morning during sunrise on our jetty, seeing the wonderful colors emerge as the sun rises over the horizon and the time under water when I snorkel and scuba dive with the team, especially when we are involved in activities with our Marine Lab team. To see the beauty of this underwater world with varieties of fish, turtles, rays and beautiful corals is amazing. To be able to help in its conservation is a blessing.”
