Kuramathi Maldives won major accolades from travel giant TUI and travel review website HolidayCheck in this year’s awards season.

The resort’s Bageecha Kids Club won TUI’s Family Champion Award 2020 for the third consecutive year along with the coveted TUI Environment Champion award, which the resort said was a testament to hard work and dedication by management, staff and guests to maintain a greener, eco-friendly island.

“As one of the first few resorts to be opened in the country in the 1970’s, Kuramathi Maldives strives to lead by example. As such, our environmentally conscious team is continuously coming up with innovative ways to reduce our carbon footprint, thus making our environment healthier, and happier,” the resort said in a press statement.

Kuramathi also won the TUI Top Quality Award, scoring 9.4 out of 10 in Winter 18/19 and 9.44 out of 10 in Summer 2019.

The German travel review website HolidayCheck named Kuramathi Maldives among the winners of its prestigious HolidayCheckGold Award, a recognition of excellence presented to hotels that secured the HolidayCheck award for five consecutive years. The website considers the total number of votes or positive reviews in a year for a hotel to be qualified. Kuramathi won the award with 98 per cent of the popular vote.

“We are honoured to accept these awards on behalf of everyone at Kuramathi. We would like to assure our guests that we will continue to strive to exceed all your expectations in this new decade. We hope that 2020 will be an equally successful year for us in achieving our goals, especially with the new eco-conscious projects we have in the pipeline,”said Alain Trefois, Director of Operations.
