Pierre Leif Edlund is Lti Maafushivaru’s new resort manager, the property announced in a press statement on Friday.
A seasoned hotelier, Pierre has worked with big names in hospitality including Best Western and Red Sea Hotels and he has extensive pre-opening and rebranding experience. He also worked for Universal Resorts at Kuramathi as the assistant director of operations.
With academic backgrounds in social science, tourism development, hospitality management, Pierre will be handling operations in the South Ari Atoll property.
Lti Maafushivaru is accessible by seaplane from Velana International Airport with an average flight time of 25 minutes. The resort is reopening in March following major renovations.
It has 81 brand new villas in five room categories. The resort is also focussed on dining and has seven bars and restaurants. Maafushivaru’s signature restaurant Moodhu Grill offers fresh meat and seafood plus a gamut of goodness from its tandoor oven.
The resort also has a private island just 500 metres from its shores for guests to enjoy a proper tropical castaway fantasy.
