The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) launched a month-long campaign with travel operator Kuoni France on Thursday (6 January) to promote the Maldives as a safe destination.
“Under this campaign, advertisements, articles, photos, and newsletters of the Maldives will be posted on the digital and social media platforms of Kuoni, France and will be placed at strategic outdoor locations,” according to the government’s tourism promotion company.
“The content of this campaign will focus on promoting the ‘naturally social-distanced’ geography of the Maldivian islands, and the stringent covid-19 safety measures in place at our resorts, hotels, guesthouses and liveaboards.”
With 29,877 tourists in 2021, France was the top ninth source market for the Maldives last year.
The MMPRC’s virtual and in-person marketing activities for 2022 includes roadshows, webinars, familiarisation trips, social media, digital and outdoor advertising campaigns with stakeholders, and participation in fairs and exhibitions.
