Travel Trade Maldives connects tourism stakeholders

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation connected with local and international tourism stakeholders at Travel Trade Maldives 2022. 

MMPRC CEO Thoyyib Mohamed addressed the TTM Summit about the ‘Evolution of Destination Marketing’ and took part in a special panel discussion as an expert speaker. 

“MMPRC is participating in TTM Connect to meet and discuss possible partnerships and identify ways to promote the Maldives further globally with local and international travel trade partners,” the government tourism promotion firm said. “Through this event we will work to promote and market the Maldives as a tourism destination, our products and unique experiences awaiting tourists in the destination. Over 150 exhibitors including hoteliers, airlines and key stakeholders are taking part in this event while over 200 top operators from top 30 markets to the Maldives will be in attendance at the connect event.” 

An international travel trade show held in the Maldives, the annual events is comprised of “hybrid activities and different events” with more than 2,000 pre-scheduled meetings and attracts over 500 travel trade professionals and over 100 hoteliers. Contracts worth US$1 billion were said to have been discussed.

This year’s TTM Connect took place at the Meerumaa Conference Facility from 23 to 25 August. The TTM Summit was held on the morning of 25 August at Crossroads Maldives, which was followed by the TTM Awards and Gala Night at the same venue that evening.  

The MMPRC was the destination partner of TTM 2022 along with other partners Ooredoo Maldives, IDEAS, Crossroads Maldives, Jalboot, Al Shaali Marine, HRS, Lotus Bike Shop, Red Creative, Medtech and Maldives Airports Company Limited.
