The Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives (FHAM) Exhibition and Global Culinary Challenge is under way at the Hulhumale’ Central Park.
The leading expo for the hospitality and food and beverage industries in the Maldives, the annual event offers a platform for F&B and tourism professionals to showcase their products and services, network with industry leaders, discover the latest trends and innovations and explore new business opportunities. This year’s event features over 100 exhibitors from more than 20 countries showcasing over 10,000 brands.
Organised by Dhivehi Expo Services, CDC Events and Travel of Sri Lanka, the event will take place from 8 to 10 May. Lily International is the principle sponsor of the event.
The opening ceremony was attended by State Minister of Tourism Ahmed Salih along with High Commissioners and Ambassadors of India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Indonesia, Japan and Saudi Arabia.
Speaking at the ceremony, Salih highlighted the importance of such events and praised the organisers for providing a platform to showcase the products and services of top local and regional businesses.
The most anticipated part of the FHAM is its Global Culinary Challenge. Endorsed and certified by the World Association of Chefs’ Societies (WACS), over 600 participants from 120 resorts as well as 11 national teams will compete in 21 categories.
The event is organised in partnership with the Chefs Guild of Maldives (CGM) and the Chefs Guild of Lanka (GGL), in association with the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies of the Maldives National University, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Ministry of Economic Development and the Maldives National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
