Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi and the Maldives National University’s Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies (FHTS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for workplace collaboration.
“This represents a significant milestone which brings forward the shared aim of promoting excellence and the development of human capital in the tourism and hospitality sector of the Maldives,” Fairmont Maldives said.
The MoU was signed on 17 August by the Vice Chancellor of the Maldives National University, Dr. Mohamed Shareef and Fairmont Maldives’ General Manager, Steven Stefaniuk, in the presence of representatives from both organisations.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Maldives National University to offer their students worthwhile internship opportunities. Our goal is to give back to the community and make a positive impact by nurturing a new generation of Maldivian talents and helping them enhance their skills and knowledge to succeed in the industry,” said Steven Stefaniuk.
The agreement aims to strengthen, promote, and develop cooperation between the two establishments based on the intention to contribute to the industry and academia positively.
The MoU enables students and employees from both institutions to build their capacities in terms of information sharing, internships, and collaborative technical expertise. The partnership with MNU will provide a valuable opportunity for local students to gain practical exposure and industry insights through a structured internship program and explore full-time career options at Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi, a globally recognised, award-winning luxury resort known for delivering memorable travel experiences and personalised and thoughtful service.
