On the occasion of World Oceans Day, Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives, in association with Parley for the Ocean (Maldives), conducted a reef cleaning scuba dive on 8th June 2024. Certified scuba diving guests and Kandooma’s scuba diving team spent the afternoon cleaning the reef and managed to remove 3 kg of rubbish including metals, plastic and fishing lines.
The General Manager of Holiday Inn Resort, Mark Eletr commented, “Being a keen scuba diver myself, I am aware of the challenges our marine life is facing and it is important to create awareness through initiatives such as our World Oceans Day Reef Dive. It is fantastic to see the guest turnout and support, and I’m very proud of the team at Kandooma who get behind any opportunity to go the extra mile.”
