Lily Beach Resort & Spa announces the accolades won by their Chef Nuwan Tharanga Eakanayaka at the recently held Hotel Asia 2024 Exhibition & International Culinary Challenge. Chef Nuwan and the Lily team participated in 6 challenges, winning a Top Gold Medal and 5 Bronze Medals.
The 18th edition of the exhibition was held in May and was hosted at the Dharubaaruge Exhibition Hall, Usfasgandu, and the Maldives National University (MNU). The Culinary Challenge, renowned for its legacy of nurturing world-class chefs, is endorsed by the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) and is internationally recognized as a World Chefs Competition.
This year’s panel included 24 judges from over 15 nations, with Project Director Alan Palmer, a chef with over 50 years of experience and an Honorary Lifetime Member of WACS, among them.
