Best Buy Maldives (BBM) has announced the much-awaited winners of its Chef’s Challenge 2021 culinary competition that concluded last month.
The winners are Mohamed Adhil of Dhigali Maldives, Aminath Hameed of The Ritz-Carlton Maldives Fari Islands and Minnie Handa of VARU by Atmosphere.
Adhil won top honours with 2,557 likes, taking home USD1000 while Hameed won silver and USD750 and Handa bronze with USD500.
Speaking to Hotel Insider, BBM’s head of marketing Ali Afrah said: “We congratulate the winners of this exciting competition and thank everyone who participated. BBM always works to enhance the local culinary industry and nurture healthy competition among talented individuals and encourage them to perform at their best.”
On the matter of the likes-based system for choosing winners, Afrah said that it’s a great opportunity for the general public to get involved and interact with participants. “It also raises awareness on the level of competition and skill in the culinary industry,” he explained.
