Dusit Thani Maldives will host acclaimed Swiss chef Vreni Giger as part of special events planned for the Easter and spring holiday season.
Chef Vreni from the Hotel Rigiblick in Zurich – which was awarded the coveted Michelin star after she took the helm – will present her unique ‘produceforward’ cuisine from 12 to 17 April 2022. Her Easter residency at Dusit Thani kicks off with a cooking class on 13 April followed by oceanside dinners at the resort’s Sea Grill restaurant on 12 and 16 April. On Easter Sunday, Chef Vreni will prepare special surprise dishes for Jazz Breakfast at The Market and dinner at Sea Grill.
A farmer’s daughter who has advocated for biodynamic ingredients her entire career, Chef Vreni’s food philosophy focuses on seasonal organic products and home-grown herbs.
Vreni became the first woman to be named Gault Millau Chef of the Year Switzerland in 2003. She was awarded 17 points by the Gault & Millau Restaurant Guide for 13 years in a row during her time at the Jägerhof in St. Gallen.
Other events and activities throughout the holiday season include a water ceremony and street food to celebrate Thai New Year on 13 April at Dusit Thani’s award-winning Benjarong Thai restaurant. On Easter Sunday, the Mysterious Maldivian Magician will present a show at the Sand Bar whilst younger guests can find adventures and activities with egg hunts, bubble parties and pizza making.
