The Six Senses resort in Laamu Atoll has been named the best hotel in Asia in TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Hotels in the World awards for 2022.

Six Senses Laamu also came second in the category of ‘Top Hotels on the Water in the World’ and number four for ‘Best Luxury Hotels in the World.’ The annual TripAdvisor award winners are selected based on feedback from millions of travellers and represent the top one per cent of listings on the popular platform.

“There are more than 500 resorts listed on TripAdvisor in the Maldives, so to be ranked by travellers as the best resort in the country and also the best in Asia, and the seventh in the world is an incredible achievement,” remarked Marteyne van Well, the Regional General Manager for Six Senses in the Maldives.

“When I read the reviews our guests leave, I am always filled with pride,” she added. “Each and every review mentions our incredible team whose hard work and kind nature are the reason behind the resort’s achievements.”

Glowing comments on Six Senses Laamu’s TripAdvisor page describe the resort as “the most beautiful place on the planet” with hospitality that makes the property “a gem in the middle of the Indian Ocean.”

A combination of on-land and over-water villas constructed with sustainable materials, Six Senses Laamu is the only luxury resort in the Laamu Atoll, one of the planet’s Hope Spots located in the south of the Maldives. The resort is also home to Yin Yang, the country’s most famous surfing wave.
