Oblu Xperience Ailafushi, the new four-star property of Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts’ Colours of Oblu brand, is ready to welcome its first guests on 19 May.

A 15-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport, Ailafushi (which translates from the local Dhivehi language as family island) features 268 villas and rooms, including duplex-style family rooms and a striking fleet of water villas shaped like dhonis (traditional Maldivian boats) lined up along the jetty of the beautiful tropical island.

“I’m delighted to welcome guests with our unique offerings, smart services and lively attractions. Oblu Xperience Ailafushi is a youthful, joyous, and energetic resort with a laidback island-style living vibe,” said General Manager Jorge Amaro. “Ailafushi island follows the successful opening of Oblu Select Lobigili in March this year. The two interconnected resorts offer innovative concepts, with something exciting in store for all travellers.”

Amaro is the general manager of both Ailafushi and the five-star, adults-only Lobigili.

The former boasts an overwater gym, a futuristic 15-meter theatre and entertainment centre, and a multi-level kids club with a pool and food corner. Located beside a channel that meanders across the island as a picturesque walkway with cosy seating corners, the resort’s La Promenade has a café, souvenir shop and wine boutique.

Dining options include the Element X Restaurant which serves modern Western, Central Asian, and Far Eastern cuisines. The X360 Bar’s 1,000 square meter infinity pool is one of the largest in the Maldives. Parked on the beach, the Copper Pot Food Truck offers the choicest fresh seafood and meat grills.

Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts operates six resorts in the Maldives under its Ozen Collection and Colours Of Oblu brands. The Colours of Oblu portfolio also include the Oblu Select Sangeli and Oblu Nature Helengeli.
