Influencers representing Kelapa Media arrived in the Maldives for a familiarisation trip on invitation by Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation from 26 June to 6 July.
A film production company that creates commercial photography and videography for brands and encompasses an audience covering the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Italy and UAE, Kelapa Media comprises content creator Dani and award-winning photographer and videographer Oscar, who together run the Instagram account @luxtravelcouple, which has a reach of 92.7 thousand followers.
“Through this trip, we aim to market the romantic side of Maldives, emphasising a variety of services catering to luxurious, adventurous experiences available in our destination for couples,” according to the MMPRC.
The duo will stay in Fairmont Sirru Fen Fushi, Grand Park Kodhipparu and Reethi Beach Resort to experience spa and wellness, diving, snorkelling, gastronomy and other unique services provided by the high-end properties. During the trip, they will create and share videos, photos and promote the destination on their social media handles with a target audience of honeymooners and couples.
“The fam trip will help highlight the romantic side of life, the unique products and services awaiting couples in the Maldives. It will also help to promote the privacy, safety and seclusion the destination offers, the geography of our scattered islands, the latest travel guidelines and destination information,” the MMPRC explained.
The familiarisation trip is part of the MMPRC’s marketing strategy for the growing American market. The U.S. is currently the 7th top source market with 39,016 visitors from 1 January to 29 June, representing a 4.8% market share.
The MMPRC has been holding several activities, including joint campaigns with industry stakeholders, familiarisation trips, and participating in fairs and exhibitions in order to maintain destination visibility and to boost arrivals from the USA.
