The Ritz-Carlton will host the first Marriott Maldives Cocktail Competition on 20 July with bartenders from each of the Marriott properties in the Maldives.
The two-part competition will take place at the resort’s Eau Bar and La Locanda restaurant with the best cocktail selected by guests and celebrity Judge Colin Chia, winner of the Iconic Hospitality Award 2022 and renowned bartender of the Nutmeg & Clove in Singapore.
“This is the first cocktail collaboration amongst all Marriott properties,” said Marco Barsotti, Director of Beverages for The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, who is eager to establish Maldives as a destination known for its local flavours in both food and drinks.
Representatives from Le Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa, Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa, JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa W Maldives, The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort, The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort and The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands will create their signature cocktails, inspired by Maldivian flavours, for an afternoon to remember.
The competition follows the Ritz-Carlton Behind the Bar initiative’s inaugural event in 2021 that introduced exceptional gastronomic experiences. After the competition, Judge Colin Chia take over for a new edition of Behind the Bar on 21 and 22 July.
