Appointments at Maldives resorts this week.
Resort: Huvafen Fushi
Position: Resort Manager
Appointee: Mohamed Hamdhoon
What They Said: A Harvard Development Management Program graduate with an impressive career spanning over 10 years, Hamdhoon brings a wealth of experience focusing on guest service. In his previous posting at Kurumba Maldives, Hamdhoon was in charge of leading the Front Office Operations. He has also worked in different capacities at several luxury resorts in the Maldives, including One & Only Reethi Rah and Intercontinental Maamunagau Maldives.
In his new role, Hamdhoon will oversee the day-to-day operations with the GM and provide support in delivering exceptional hospitality and exclusive experiences promised by the iconic brand.
Resort: Huvafen Fushi
Position: Ibrahim Nathif
Appointee: Executive Sous Chef
What They Said: An expert in French cuisine, Nathif brings over two decades of experience in international cuisine, of which 16 years were with Baros and Milandhoo. In his new role, Nathif will be in charge of culinary programming and new menu developments, as well as kitchen operations and the implementation of kitchen standards.

Resort: Meeru Island Resort & Spa
Position: General Manager
Appointee: Ali Shifaz
What They Said: Shifaz has been with Crown & Champa Resorts since July 2019, when he joined Kagi Spa Island as Senior Project Coordinator. After completing one year at Kagi, his CCR career journey continues with Meeru Island Resort & Spa.
Shifaz brings a wealth of experience to his new role; working in various positions from Guest Service Agent to Front Office Manager and Acting Operations Manager at international luxury properties such as the Hilton hotel in Auckland and at the London Marriott Hotel Kensington.
As well as completing the General Managers program at Cornell University, he completed two years at Oxford Brookes University towards a Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, going on to complete a Degree in International Hospitality Management at Auckland University of Technology.
In his new role, Shifaz will direct, lead and motivate the activities of the entire operation of the resort towards long‑term financial stability. His goal is to provide opportunities for his team to develop to their fullest potential.
