To celebrate World Vegan Day, W Maldives has launched a year-long vegan menu curated in collaboration with chef Priyanka Naik, a celebrity vegan chef and sustainable-cuisine champion.
The Food Network champion and author of The Modern Tiffin recently visited W Maldives for a unique ‘Marriott Bonvoy Moments’ experience. Chef Prinyanka toured local farms on Thoddoo island where she hand-picked ingredients and consciously curated dishes around sustainably-sourced fruits and vegetables. She worked closely with the local chefs at the resort, who gave her insights and helped add a local touch to all the courses of the menu.
As part of the 4-day activation, Priyanka also held a special sustainable cooking class for guests at the resort, sharing tips on how to make the best use of leftovers. The year-long Go W-egan menu was presented with a special showcase dinner.
According to W Maldives, chef Priyanka’s new dishes – two starters, two main-course dishes and a dessert – are a special addition to an already vast and varied vegetarian and vegan menu that the resort offers and personalises for all guests.
Chef Priyanka Naik is a self-taught Indian-American vegan chef. She is an avid traveller who has been to nearly forty countries. Her globally-inspired original recipes that focus on sustainability, have been featured on her blog and are incorporated into her regular speaking appearances at various shows and events.
Guests visiting W Maldives will be able to enjoy chef Priyanka’s vegan additions to the menu until October 2023.
