The festive programme at InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort invites guests to step into a Secret Garden full of splendour and beautiful experiences; culinary heights, spending time with loved ones, and simply celebrating life. Guests get to retreat from their daily hustle and embrace nature, reconnect, and soak in the serenity that only a tropical, remote island can host.
Enjoyment and adventures are on the list for both children and adults, starting with the lighting of the Christmas tree on 22 December, and continuing onto the new year.
The resort plans to elevate its bespoke guest experiences even further with visiting celebrity chef Anita Lo and Flair Bartender Anne-Lise Jouenne from Paris.
Author of cookbooks ‘Cooking without Borders’, and ‘Solo: Easy and Sophisticated Recipes for a Party of One’, Chef Lo is deeply invested in removing the geographical lines separating worlds and bringing the world together with her inimitable talents. She was the first guest female chef to cook a state dinner at the White House as well.
“For me, there is nothing better than discovering a new culture through its food. Ingredients tell stories, both personal and historical, about the people who cook it, about migration, strife, and the surrounding land. Food is identity, and I love nothing more than sharing what I’ve learned along the way,” said Anita Lo.
Having been exposed to the art of ‘bottle-flairing,’ Anne-Lise Jouenne completed her Bachelor’s Degree and pursued her passion for learning Mixology. After her training in Paris, she started off freelancing, and slowly started gaining fame as she began getting exposed to more and more social networking events. Her famous TikTok account is note-worthy and a nod to her talents in flair-bartending. Jouenne was selected as the Best Female Performer at the prestigious Roadhouse Competition in London in 2019 as well.
“We are ecstatic to welcome her to our humble abode where she can truly showcase her unique creations in mixology. Tying up our theme for the Secret Garden, these are just a few of the cool events you can expect at Maamunagau this season,” the resort said.
The resort will also welcome an acclaimed list of wellness expert practitioners who will be visiting the island throughout the festive season to help re-invigorate the senses. Guests can book one-on-one therapy sessions with them to check into their soul to better understand themselves and to help unwind, rejuvenate and re-awaken their senses through yoga, meditation, acupuncture, and other holistic means.
For children and families, the resort’s Planet Trekkers team has put together a selection of exciting as well as creative and educational experiences.
The InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort invites guests to a Secret Garden, and to enter their curated personal paradise, where they get to wander through the maze of tropical beauty and discover its hidden pleasures.
