Appointee: Ali Farooq
What They Said: Ali began his career in Kurumba Maldives as an intern in 2001. From his early days in Food and Beverage, he has forged his path in Kurumba with loyalty, hard work, commitment, and dedication. During the past two decades, he has gained experience in all facets of operations. With his knowledge of the resort and the strong relationships with our guests, both internal and external, business partners, and team members, we are positive that Ali will continue to be a key contributor to the success of Kurumba in his role as Resort Manager.

Position: Director of Human Resources
Appointee: Isham Ismail
What They Said: Isham Ismail joined Kurumba as Human Resources Manager in 2019. During his time here, the resort has seen a transformation in the overall HR approach. Morale has strengthened and facilities and recreation in the team village have improved. The HR leadership goal is to continue to provide an environment where team members, both present and future, can thrive and develop to be future leaders in the ever growing Maldivian hospitality industry.

Position: Sales Manager – Russia & CIS market
Appointee: Elena Boritskaia
What They Said: With over 14 years of innovative sales and marketing experience in the tourism industry, Elena brings a wealth of knowledge to her new role.
She began her career with ANEX Tour, one of top tour operators in Russia and the CIS region. She has also worked with international hotel chains including IHG, Hilton, Marriott International, Accor and most recently as Deputy Director of Sales at Mövenpick Moscow.
Highly motivated and well organised, her dedication and passion for sales drives an impressive track record of success. In her new role, she will be leading the Russian & CIS market and strategic development in alignment with the company’s new strategic direction.

Position: General Manager – Minor Hotels’ properties in Maldives – Anantara Veli, Anantara Dhigu and Naladhu Private Island
Appointee: Michael Parker
What They Said: Hailing from the United Kingdom, Parker was most recently the Managing Director of Rosewood Phnom Penh. He has held Managing Director roles within Rosewood at their properties in Sanya and Guangzhou in China as well. Parker has previously held the Managing Director role at Banyan Tree, Shanghai and General Manager roles at Wanda Hotels and GLH Hotels in the UK.
Located in South Malé Atoll, Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort, Anantara Veli Maldives Resort, and Naladhu Private Island form a cluster of three hotels.
