The InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) has appointed Mohamed Hussain Shihab as Cluster Director of Human Resources for its two Maldives properties, the InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort and Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives.

Shihab held the Director of Human Resources position at InterContinental Maldives for two years before he accepted the opportunity to step up to oversee both IHG resorts in the Maldives.

Born in 1989, Shihab is the youngest Maldivian to be appointed for a Cluster Director of Human Resources role. With a career spanning 11 years in the industry, Shihab has studied and worked in many countries across the world, including the USA, Sri Lanka and the Middle East, and at international hotel groups such as Anantara and IHG.

“With his international education and work experience, Shihab excels in uniting teams and workforce of different backgrounds and nationalities, leading by example to embrace differences and create a strong and resilient team,” IHG said.
