Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives hosts workshop ahead of culinary competition

The Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives (FHAM) has held a workshop to provide information for chefs participating at the FHAM Global Culinary Challenge. The workshop was held on 20 March at Champa Central Hotel. 

Over 100 chefs from the hospitality industry participated in the workshop to learn about the Culinary Challenge, and the competition’s judging criteria. New categories will be added  this year including Wedding Cake Structure and Traditional and Modern Maldivian Meal. 

Participants were able to see live demonstrations on ASPIC techniques for competitions, modern garde manger presentation, petit fours and cake dressing presentation techniques, as well as learning about live cooking at competitions, after which a Q&A session was conducted. 

The premier international hospitality trade fair in the Maldives, the Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives and its Global Culinary Challenge are due to take place from 8 to 10 May at the Central Park in Hulhumalé.
