To commemorate Autism Awareness Month in April, Pullman Maldives Maamutaa resort organised a weekly volleyball match between staff and guests. For every visitor’s win against Pullman Staff, the resort pledged to donate USD1,000 to the Maldives Autism Association. Non-players who wished to participate were also encouraged to drop their donations with every dollar donated gaining a voucher to win a bottle of champagne at the end of each match.
The money raised (US$3,565 and MVR1,499.11) was donated to the Maldives Autism Association on 13 May.
“Pullman Maldives Maamutaa, as an Accor Hotel, is committed to supporting social and community projects for the Maldives through engaging and interactive activities to not only contribute to funding, but to bring attention to these worthy causes as well,” the resort said.
