One&Only Reethi Rah has appointed Pierre Edlund as Resort Manager.
In his new role, Edlund is entrusted with overseeing the resort’s day-to-day operations, strategic development, and the delivery of exceptional guest experiences.
Pierre Edlund brings with him 17 years of experience in the international tourism and hospitality sectors. His career has been distinguished by notable positions across a diverse range of properties, showcasing his exceptional skills in pre-openings, re-brandings, refurbishments, and leadership on a global scale. Before joining One&Only Reethi Rah, Edlund served as the Resort Manager at Niyama Private Islands, Maldives.
Edlund’s academic accomplishments include multiple degrees in social science and multiple certifications within key hospitality subjects. He completed his thesis in cultural geography with focus research on pre-opening, franchise, and cultural dynamics within hospitality management.
Originally from Sweden, he loves to experience and discover delicious foods and flavours, which he makes up for with a very active fitness lifestyle on the side. He loves to spend time learning new trends, technologies, socialising and keeping up with what is happening around the world and within the hospitality industry around the globe.
Paul Lewis is the new Culinary Director at One&Only Reethi Rah, overseeing the resort’s exceptional dining experiences. With a culinary journey spanning the globe, Chef Paul brings a wealth of international expertise to the resort’s culinary team.
His passion for crafting exquisite dishes has taken him from Australia to Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Maldives, and beyond, and his culinary prowess has been recognised with prestigious awards as well as a remarkable track record of launching and revitalising restaurant concepts.
At One&Only Reethi Rah, Chef Paul is dedicated to curating memorable dining experiences that delight the senses and elevate its culinary offerings to new heights.
Lewis brings a wealth of culinary expertise gathered from around the globe. His culinary journey commenced in 1998 as an Apprentice Chef in Brisbane, Australia, and has since taken him to various culinary destinations.
Lewis’ career ascended as he held the position of Executive Sous-Chef at the Renaissance Hotel in Malaysia and played a pivotal role in the pre-opening of Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran, Indonesia, as the Executive Chef. His culinary exploration also extended to Vietnam, and he has had previous experience in the Maldives as the Director of Cuisine at W Retreat and Spa from 2014 to 2016. He even graced Mauritius as a Guest Chef at Long Beach resort.
Before joining One&Only Reethi Rah, Lewis held the role of Executive Chef at Intercontinental Hayman Island. He possesses extensive experience in orchestrating large banquet operations, catering to groups ranging from 10 to an impressive 3,500 guests simultaneously. Throughout his career, Lewis has been at the forefront of restaurant concept and menu launches, achieving accolades like the coveted 2 hats in the 2021 AGFC guide for his contributions to the world of culinary excellence.
Hailing from Australia, Chef Paul Lewis’s interests outside the kitchen offer a delightful glimpse into his life. He finds relaxation and joy in surf fishing, perfecting the art of backyard barbecue smoking, and embracing the discipline of boxing. Additionally, he shares heartwarming moments with his loyal canine companion, finding solace and companionship. These hobbies not only grant him a well-deserved respite from the culinary world but also mirror his fervour for craftsmanship and the relentless pursuit of excellence in diverse facets of his life.
