SO/ Maldives has officially opened on Wednesday (1 November), becoming the third iconic resort at the CROSSROADS Maldives.

Nestled on its own exclusive island on the Emboodoo lagoon, just 15 minutes by speedboat from the Velana International Airport, SO/ Maldives is a sartorially-rooted retreat “Where Castaway Meets Runway.” Travellers are welcomed into a glistening glass pavilion with 360-degree views, and invited to take a walk across the Runway, a conceptualised open-to-sky catwalk.

SO/ Maldives features a selection of 80 luxury villas, including beachfront and over-water options, all adorned with designer interiors. The villas are designed for open plan living with a private pool and deck offering panoramic ocean views. The Dream Family Beach Villas feature private capsules for kids and the two-level, three-bedroom Ocean Water Pool Villa Atelier offers spacious and stylish accommodation for families.

The resort’s dining experience comes in three distinct options. The Citronelle Club serves casual all-day dining offering Asian flavours while the Lazuli Beach Club serves up a Mediterranean menu. From sunrise to sunset, guests can discover unique beats at the poolside or beach while sipping on creative cocktails. The resort’s signature restaurant Hadaba offers the atmosphere and aromatic flavours of Levantine cuisine with endless ocean views.

Guests will be able to unwind on SO/ Maldives’ private island or take advantage of the facilities at The Marina @ CROSSROADS, an 800-metre lifestyle area and beach walk where visitors can discover cool cafés, refined restaurants, retail boutiques, a chic beach club, upmarket boutiques, a spa, kids’ club, as well as a yacht marina and a Marine Discovery Centre dedicated to underwater conservation and education.

The resort’s water villas and restaurants feature solar panels on the roofs, allowing the resort to generate its own green energy. Recycled water, electric vehicles, eco-friendly bathroom amenities, and locally-sourced products are used throughout the property, and the resort has eliminated all single-use plastics.

SO/ Maldives joins two existing resorts at CROSSROADS Maldives: SAii Lagoon Maldives, Curio Collection by Hilton and Hard Rock Hotel Maldives. With three iconic branded resorts all connected with world-class facilities, the fully-integrated luxury destination is the first of its kind in the Indian Ocean.
