Maldives is contending for 9 prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA) in the Indian Ocean’s category and Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) is hosting a voting event at Velaanaage ground floor on 28th March 2024, from 9:15 AM to 1:15 PM.
The WTA, established in 1993, is recognized as the highest accolade in the travel and tourism industry. Their annual awards program celebrates excellence across various sectors, with regional ceremonies culminating in a grand final.
Maldives has secured many of the most coveted Indian Ocean’s category titles such as Leading Destination, Leading Beach Destination, and Leading Tourist Board for many years now. Maldives was also declared as WTA’s World’s Leading Destination for the past four years in a row, and MMPRC claimed the title of World’s Leading Tourist Board for two consecutive years.
The Voting Event at Velaanaage ground floor presents an opportunity for the Maldivian community and travel enthusiasts to participate. Attendees will also be entering a raffle draw with a complimentary stay sponsored by ITAW Travels, courtesy of the National Guesthouses Association of the Maldives.
