Football legend Diego Simeone hosted skills workshops for guests and young Maldivians at the Joali Being resort last week.
Simeone, a former Argentina international midfielder and current manager of Spanish giants Atlético Madrid, conducted a memorable skills workshop for 14 young players from Meedhoo Island on 26 June, offering an invaluable opportunity to gain knowledge, practising pro techniques, and interact with a world-class player and title-winning coach.
“Our team is always looking for meaningful ways to connect with guests and support the local community. This commitment is integral to the Joali brand,” said General Manager Özgür Cengiz.
The collaboration with Simeone kicked off Joali Being’s the ‘Movement Skills Series.’ Over the coming months, the resort plans to partner with renowned tennis players, fitness instructors and other sports personalities to host a variety of interactive workshops.
Since opening in late 2021, Joali Being has sought to support neighbouring island communities, conducting virtual education sessions for university students on International Women’s Day, hosting an appreciation event for healthcare workers on International Nurses’ Day, and creating multiple hospitality internships for aspiring Maldivians.
