The Waldorf Astoria Ithaafushi and One & Only Reethi Rah were chosen among the best resorts in the world by readers of the Travel + Leisure magazine.

The Waldorf Astoria came third in the 100 Best Hotels in the World as voted by Travel + Leisure’s readers, who rated properties on their facilities, location, service, food, and overall value.

Located in South Malé Atoll, the resort’s “119 villas come with everything a traveler could want out of a Maldivian vacation: postcard-perfect ocean views, private plunge pools, and dedicated butlers, who offer what one reader called ‘the best personalized service,'” according to Travel + Leisure.

The One & Only Reethi Rah in North Malé Atoll offers guests a choice between “a glamorous overwater villa — all with catamaran nets over the Indian Ocean, some with infinity pools — and a stylish beach villa surrounded by tropical foliage and set on dazzling-white sand.”

A top global travel media brand with a network of hundreds of writers and photographers, Travel + Leisure reaches more than 16 million travelers every month. The magazine’s World’s Best Awards ranks the top hotels, resorts and more based on an annual reader survey.

The Waldorf Astoria was also named the Best Resort Hotel in Asia and the Best Spa in the Maldives.

“We are humbled and tremendously grateful for these prestigious recognitions. This could only be made possible by the hard work, dedication and passion of our exceptional team members,” said General Manager Etienne Dalancon. “A heartfelt thank you to our valued guests for their trust and support in obtaining this remarkable accolade, which is testament to the incredible work of our team members as we continue to strive for excellence in one of the most beautiful destinations in the world.”
