The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), along with 11 industry partners participated in MATTA 2023 fair, held from 17 to 19 March in Malaysia.
Organised by the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA), the fair is Malaysia’s premier travel extravaganza. The fair provides opportunities for service providers and the travel trade to share information about exciting and value-for-money travel options, paired with business opportunities and excellent travel experiences to potential travellers.
Through this event, the MMPRC provided visitors with the latest information about the Maldives, its segments, and offers.
“We believe that participating in MATTA 2023 is key to meeting potential collaborators and maintaining the destination’s presence in Malaysia and the Southeast Asian region”, the MMPRC said.
As of January 2023, the Maldives have welcomed 3,398 tourists from Southeast Asia. The MMPRC has planned several marketing activities in this region to market and further promote the destination, including a Maldives Roadshow in Southeast Asia, a print advertising campaign and a media familiarisation trip. The MMPRC will also represent the Maldives at major fairs in this region such as ADEX Ocean Mission 2023, NATAS Holidays 2023 and ITB Asia 2023.
