Personal Computers has opened the first ICT concept store in the Maldives, featuring Acer products and offering maintenance and repair services in the country.
The grand opening ceremony on Monday night (30 October) was attended by Ali Farish Khaleel, Bank of Maldives’ Head of Business Banking as the chief guest, along with Johnson Seet, Acer’s international marketing team and Head of Mobile, Notebooks and Handheld Devices.
Seet presented Acer’s brand certification to Saamy Abdul Gafoor, the Managing Director of Personal Computers, marking the commemoration of the partnership between Acer and Personal Computers.
“We are proud to have had the opportunity to open the first ICT concept store for an international brand in the Maldives,” Personal Computers CEO Moosa Aswan said at the ceremony.
“With the hard work of our MD and staff, we have revolutionised the industry. Now we can provide affordable products with great service.”
The store will offer international warranty along with add-ons for its products, assuring Acer assistance for stolen or damaged items, he stressed.
“With the inception of the store, it paves the way for other such products to be introduced to the market, and this proves that international brands recognise the Maldives,” Aswan said, noting that customers would no longer have to send their laptops overseas for repairs.
In addition to Acer computers, laptops and accessories, other Acer products such as Acerpure water purifiers are also available at the new store.
Following remarks by Aswan, Johnson Seet and the chief guest, the opening ceremony concluded with a tour of the store, a raffle draw and a traditional boduberu performance.
The Acer concept store is located in Lonuziyaarai Magu in the capital Malé.
